The winners of FameLab 2018 Czech Republic
The Czech national final took place on Sunday 13 May at Studio Ypsilon in Prague. The expert jury of Dr. Michael Londesborough (chemist and science communicator), Mgr. Marie Rodinová (FameLab 2011 finalist) and Doc. Karel Oliva (linguist and mathematician) had a very difficult task of deciding who would be awarded the main prize. Focusing on the scientific content, clarity of presentation and charisma of the competitors they reached the following decision:
The first place and title of OVERALL WINNER of FameLab 2018 Czech Republic went to Lukáš Pekárek. Lukáš will represent the Czech Republic at the International FameLab final in Cheltenham, UK in the first week in June. Lukáš also won the Audince prize.
THE BRITISH COUNCIL PRIZE was awarded to Karolína Pokorná who will also be travelling to the UK and have a chance to meet other international FameLab finalists and many experts at Cheltenham Science Festival.
Spolek Adeto prize went to Dominika Kollárová.
Czech Centres Prize won Martin Balouch who will be spending a one-week residency at one of the Czech Centre offices around the world.
