FAMELAB CZECH REPUBLIC 2015 TIMELINE

  • 13 January - 23 February: Registration of contestants 
  • 7 March - 1. regional heat, Prague
  • 21 March - 2. regional heat, Zlín 
  • 10-12 April - MasterClass for finalists, Liblice
  • 3 May - Czech National Final FameLab 2015, Prague 
  • 2-7 June - FameLab 2015  International Final, Cheltenham, UK.  

Czech FameLab 2015 has got a winner!

Overall winner: Ondřej Lidický: Drug Delivery Service / Ústav makromolekulární chemie AV ČR, became overall Czech winner. Ondřej will be representing Czech Republic at the international final in Cheltenham, UK in June. Semifinal is taking place on 3 June, final on 4 June.

Czech Centres Prize: Vojtěch Sysel: What is a black hole? / Slezská univerzita, Opava (science popularisation scholarship with Czech Centres) 

Academy of Sciencies Prize: Barbora Procházková: Secrets of Reproduction / Ústav živočišné fyziologie a genetiky AV ČR, (mini camera Go Pro)

British Council and ADETO Prize: Matěj Novák: Jednotka rychlého nasazení / VŠCHT Praha, (trip to Cheltenhamu Science Festival)

FamLab International 2015, 3-4 July, Cheltenham, UK

In 2015, twenty-seven countries from all over the world took part in FameLab competition. Twenty-seven national winners had to fight for their place in the international final in three semi-finals. Ondřej Lidický representing the Czech Republic did not make it to the final despite putting on a great show. Thank you, Ondřej!

The winner of FameLab International 2015 is Oskari Vinko representing Switzerland. The runner-ups are Francois-Xavier Joly from France, who won the Audience prize as well, and Lillian Smestad from Norway representing CERN.

FameLab 2015 - International Echoes, 6 November, Prague

National finalists of FameLab 2015 competition from all over the world came to Prague to bring you a science show like no other. Topics of their talks ranged from medicine to engineering to psychology. The event was part of the biggest science festival in the Czech Republic organised by the Academy of Sciences: The Week of Science and Technology.
